Authentic Kerala Ayurvedic Therapies & Treatments

We offer a wide range of Ayurvedic treatments designed for rejuvenation, detoxification, and chronic illness management:

Abhyangam Massage

Warm medicated oils are gently applied over the body with massage strokes that follow the direction of arterial blood flow. This massage helps cleanse the body of ama (toxins), relaxes the mind and body, improves circulation, and acts as a preparatory therapy for Panchakarma. It also nourishes the skin, strengthens muscles, and promotes vitality.

Agnikarma

A pointed metallic instrument called Shalaka is heated and applied to affected parts of the body to transfer heat. This therapeutic “heat burn” is used for pain, inflammation, musculoskeletal disorders, and related conditions, helping correct Vata–Kapha imbalance. It works by stimulating local circulation, reducing stiffness, and restoring natural balance in the tissues.

Karnapooranam

Though the full process detail is not fully excerpted, the page implies this is a therapy relating to treating the ears (“Karna”) by pouring medicated substances. It is described as “reliable, safe, holistic, and effective” at Ecovillage. This technique nourishes and calms the delicate ear channels, supporting hearing health and relieving ear-related discomfort.

Shirodhara / Dhara Therapies

A steady stream of warm medicated liquids is gently poured over the forehead or body, calming the nervous system and promoting relaxation. This therapy is beneficial for arthritis, migraine, skin disorders, diabetes, women’s health, and stress-related conditions.

Kutee Sweda

In this therapy, the client sits inside a specially designed steam chamber that induces sweating and detoxification. Medicinal herbs are often added to the steam to enhance therapeutic benefits, reduce stiffness, improve circulation, and relieve muscle and joint pain.

Sneha Pana

As part of the preparatory stage (Poorva Karma) of Panchakarma, medicated ghee or oil infused with herbs is taken orally in measured doses. This process helps loosen deep-seated toxins, lubricate body tissues, and prepare the system for effective elimination therapies.

Udwarthanam

An Ayurvedic therapeutic massage using herbal powders mixed with medicated oils, applied with upward strokes to stimulate circulation. This treatment helps reduce body stiffness, break down excess fat, improve skin texture, and support weight management.

Upanaha Sweda

A therapeutic bandaging procedure where warm herbal paste is applied and covered to generate mild sweating. It helps relieve pain, reduce inflammation, improve joint flexibility, and restore muscle strength, and is especially useful in chronic musculoskeletal conditions.

Virechana

A cleansing therapy of Panchakarma in which herbal purgatives are administered to expel toxins from the intestines. It balances aggravated Pitta dosha, improves digestion and metabolism, strengthens immunity, and restores internal harmony.
